Family Friendly Event Expands to Offer Even More Activities

Minot, N.D. – The Sunrise Rotary Club of Minot, along with the Minot Park District, is hosting the 3rd annual event to celebrate outdoor winter activities on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Souris Valley Golf Course (2400 14th Ave. SW, Minot) from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The main attraction will once again be two ice carving demonstrations by Trevor Pearson, an award-winning ice sculptor out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Other activities for the day include: tractor rides, snow painting, sledding hills (sleds not provided), a hidden objects seek & find, snowman building, a photo booth, a giant Jenga game, snolfing (snow golf), corn hole games, live music, an animal encounter from the Roosevelt Park Zoo, activities and autographs with Minot Minotauros hockey players, a Magic City Discovery Center station and a coloring activity. There will also be fire pits with free hot chocolate and s’mores provided.

“The Minot Park District is a proud partner with the Sunrise Rotary group,” Says Ron Merritt, Executive Director of the Minot Park District.  “We encourage people to get out and enjoy all the outdoor winter activities that Minot has to offer.”

“Winterfest gives us a chance to bring families together who want to enjoy a multitude of activities all in one place,” says Cassidy Hjelmstad, current Sunrise Rotary Club President. “For those who simply love being outside, or those newer to Minot, we encourage people to try out all the free activities we’re proud to share with everyone.”

The event is open from 2:00pm-6: 00 pm on Sunday, February 11.  Admission to the event is $5 per carload.
