Scheels Donates $250,000 to Scheels Complex at South Hill

Minot, ND- The Minot Park District along with the Magic City Girls Fast Pitch is proud to announce that Scheels has donated $250,000.00 to the Scheels Complex at South Hill.  Projects at the Scheels Complex include completely renovated restrooms, concession stand, locker rooms and safety netting.  This project is beneficial not only to the athletes that call Scheels Complex home but also the many spectators, fans and visitors that enjoy the complex.

“We are grateful to Scheels for their support of this project and continued support of our community,” said Ron Merritt Executive Director of the Minot Park District.  “The Scheels Complex welcomes thousands of visitors every year. These renovations will allow for better and safer experience for players, coaches and fans.  The newly upgraded complex will also give Minot the opportunity to host more tournaments increasing the economic impact to our community.”

The Scheels Complex is home to the Magic City Girls Fast Pitch, Minot High Girls Fast Pitch, Minot State Women’s Fast Pitch and Bishop Ryan Fast Pitch.  The Scheels Complex is also used by the Minot Park District Baseball and T Ball leagues throughout the summer with over 500 participants.  Additionally, the Dream Catchers field is located at the South Hill Complex which is an adaptive field for people of all ages and abilities.

“This wonderful donation will help complete the much-needed upgrades for an overall enjoyable experience at the ballpark,” said Thor Nelson Magic City Girls Fast Pitch.   “This first-class facility will provide the Magic City and the surrounding areas a fantastic facility to hold local events and attract larger tournaments.  Scheels has always been a large party of our sporting community and we look forward to continuing that partnership for years to come.”

In a recent Economic Impact Study completed by SBO for the Minot Park District it was estimated that our baseball/softball complexes welcomed over 105,000 visitors in 2019 with an economic impact of $5,006,866
