Kayak Rentals
Minot Parks received a generous donation from Minot Noon Rotary of 6 kayaks, lifejackets, and paddles. With this donation, we are now able to offer kayak rentals to the Minot Community.
Kayaks are available to rent through the Minot Parks recreation office located at 420 3rd Ave SW. The cost is $10 per day per kayak. It includes paddle and life jacket. It is a first come first serve basis. You must have your own means of transportation as well as proper equipment to secure the kayaks while transporting, the Minot Park District does not supply this. Payment is due at the time of rental. Kayaks are available for pickup Monday – Friday 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Rentals are 24 hours, pick up is anytime after 12:00 pm and drop off is anytime between 8:00 am – 12:00 pm the following day. If past 12:00 pm the following day you will be charged for a second day at drop-off. There is no pick-up/drop-off on Saturday or Sunday. Friday rentals are 3-day rentals only ($30).
You must be 16 years or older to rent the kayaks and if you are under 18 a parent will need to be present to sign the waiver.

East Side Estates: Head East on 37th Ave SE From US-52, Turn Left onto 50th St SE, Turn Right on 33rd Ave SE, Continue East Until Road Ends.
The canoe launch facility is behind the berm on the east area of the property.
Area Lakes: Nelson Carlson Lake, Rice Lake, Lake Darling
Reminder: Watercraft use is NOT currently recommended on the Souris River inside the City of Minot due to dangerous cofferdams.

Learn kayaking basics with Minot Parks! Ages 9 and up are invited to learn paddling, launching, and safety practices. This class is $10 per kayak to attend, the class is free if you are providing your own kayak, paddle, and lifevest. Please arrive 15 minutes early for the class. We will be paddling for about an hour so prepare according. This class is geared towards beginners and families.
Limit 20 boaters total (first come first serve) Sign-up will be on our website.
We do have some single and double kayaks available for rent. First come first serve—regular rental price. Paddles and life vests will be provided with rental.
Ages 9 and up. An adult must accompany any person under 18.
*All boaters must have fitting life vests.
