To celebrate Parks and Recreation Month, we are asking our community to Rise Up and join in on the fun activities we have planned for the month!

All events are free to attend.

 

Scavenger Hunt

From July 1st to August 30th, visit each of the Parks listed on the activity sheet to gather all of the unique code words. The code words will then create a sentence. Those who submit a completed scavenger hunt will receive a prize!

Minot Parks celebrating the Red, White, and Blue! Our annual Fourth of July festival takes place at Roosevelt Park from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm on Monday, July 4th. The event includes music from the Tin Star and food vendors.

Build – A – Bubble 

Friday, July 8, 5:00 – 7:00 pm

Oak Park

Come out to Oak Park and help us fill the skies with bubbles! We will have bubble-making stations where you can build a giant bubble wand. Complimentary bubbles will be handed out to all attending children (while supplies last).

Ladies Souris Scramble @ Souris Valley Golf Course

Ladies Souris Scramble

 $75 per golfer / $150 per team

Monday, July 11th| Souris Valley Golf Course | 10:00 am Start

$150 per Team/ Includes: Green fees, cart, range balls, and lunch following play.

Each golfer will receive a swag bag and entered to win door prizes.  There will be prizes for the champion in each flight, as well as hole prizes for long putt, long drive, and closest to the pin.  Teams will be flighted by a blind draw.

All registration will be done online this year. Select this to take you to the registration page -> Souris Scramble.  Hit the plus (+) button on the left-hand side and select “Add to Cart”. After this, you will be required to create an account if you do not already have one.   In addition to your information, you will be asked for your partner’s name, email address, phone number, and t-shirt size.  You will be required to pay the whole $150 for your team ($75/player).  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at ann@minotparks.com or 701-857-4136.

Woodland Trail

Enjoy all nature has to offer with an early morning birding tour led by a local birding expert.  Learn facts about all the avian residents of Woodland Trail and other native species. Complimentary coffee will be provided. Binoculars and cameras are welcome.

Cardboard Canoe Race

Roosevelt Park Pool

Race to the finish line in your homemade cardboard canoe! Teams consist of 2 to 4 members; however, only 1-2 members can be in the boat for the race. Team members must be 12 years old and older. Prizes for first to the finish line, most dramatic sinking, and more! See rules and registration below.

Wednesday, June 29, July 20, and August 17 at 7:00 pm. Join Minot Parks & Sol Baby Yoga for a FREE Yoga session at the Oak Park Amphitheater. All ages, genders, and experience levels are welcome. If available please bring your own yoga mat.
