Santa’s Mailbox Begins @ Scandinavian Heritage Park and Magic City Discovery Center

Santa’s Mailbox

Friday, November 15, 2024 (4pm) – Wednesday, December 11, 2024 (8pm)

Elves are sneaking into Minot’s Scandinavian Heritage Park and Magic City Discovery Center to drop off a magical mailbox on November 15th, so children can mail their letters to Santa! The elves will pack up the letters and take them home to the North Pole for Santa to read on Wednesday, December 13th. Don’t forget to include names and a return address to ensure the elves know where to send Santa’s response!

 

Join us on November 15th from 4pm to 6pm at the Scandinavian Heritage Park. We will have hot cocoa, candy canes, premade letters, and more!

 

Place your letter in Santa’s Mailbox between November 15th and December 11th and Santa will send you a letter back! As long as there is a legible name and address.Letters dropped off after December 11th at 8:00 pm will NOT receive a letter back.

K – 8th Grade

Pre-Registration only. You cannot register on the day of the event.

 

Rules:
– All supplies will be provided. No outside nerf guns, darts, accessories, etc.
– There will be two teams per age group. Teams are divided up equally and at random. You will not be able to pick which team you are on.
– Everyone must wear the provided eye protection.
– You must not fire the darts aiming on your opponent’s head or face if you do so, you will be asked to sit out of the current game
– Do Not Shoot your opponents from close distance. If you do so you will be asked to sit out of the current game.
– If you fire from close range or at the face / neck of the opponent more than once. You will no longer be able to participate in the battles.
– 15 people max per team

 

Capture the Flag Nerf
Battle Rules:
– There will be two evenly divided teams – colored t-shirts will be provided
– The object of the game is to steal the other team’s flag from their base and return it to yours. Don’t let your flag get stolen!
– If the other team has your flag, shoot the person with the flag. They have to give it back to you to return to your base (The other team can’t steal it back before you get there).
– If you get hit, you have to sit on the ground until another teammate touches you. If everyone on your team is down, the game is over.
– When you run out of darts you may gather more off the ground.
– First team to successfully capture the other teams flag and bring it back to their base wins the round.

 

Please note: a parent or guardian must be present to sign a waiver for participation in the Nerf event.

Join Us for Youth Learn to Curl Night at the Minot Curling Club!

Minot Curling Club and Minot Parks are excited to offer a free Youth Learn to Curl Night for students in 7th through 12th grade. No experience is necessary—just come ready to learn and have fun with expert instruction from Minot Curling Club instructors.

Event Details:

  • Date & Time: November 25th, 2024 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm
  • Who: Youth in 7th to 12th grade
  • Cost: Free!
  • What to Wear: Warm clothing (layers encouraged), gloves, and clean shoes.
  • Helmets: Required for participants aged 12 and under.

This is a great opportunity to try a new sport in a fun, welcoming environment, with plenty of hands-on instruction. Parents and guardians are welcome to stay and watch from the observation area.
