Minot Parks Announces Roosevelt Park Pool and Pickleball Courts Open for the Summer of 2026

Minot Park District is beyond excited to announce the Roosevelt Park Pool and Pickleball courts will be open for the summer of 2026.  After a disappointing closure in 2025 due to the flood mitigation project the Minot Park Board is committed to reopening the pool for our community.

“We are dedicated to providing quality of life for our citizens, and we know the Roosevelt Park Pool is a big part of that,” says, Elly DesLauriers, Executive Director for the Minot Park District. “Our staff is working diligently to make sure the facility and staff are ready to welcome visitors on our targeted opening day of June 5.”

The Minot Park District will be testing out the new filtration system as soon as weather allows to complete the large maintenance project that was substantially completed in the fall of 2025.  The new system replaced an aging system that had went through the 2011 flood and was beginning to deteriorate.  The Minot Park Board made the decision to move forward with proactive maintenance to avoid closures in the future due to an aging system.

“We understand the summer of 2025 was disappointing without the pool,” says, DesLauriers.  “We are committed to making sure the pool is open and ready for you in 2026. Safety is still of the highest priority and we will continue to work with the Souris River Joint Board to ensure safe access to our facilities and a welcoming environment for our community.”

Patrons of the park should note that while the pool and the pickleball courts will be open, the remainder of the park is closed while construction and restoration of green space moves forward.  The skate park will remain closed for the summer of 2026 due to the proximity to the MI-6 and MI-7 construction.  The target for opening would be the fall of 2026.

Please follow Minot Parks on Facebook and Instagram for updated and accurate information. We will share a parking lot map for both the pool and the pickleball courts as well as continued updates on openings as they become available.
