Park District Foundation
In 1994, the Minot Park District created the Minot Park District Foundation. The purpose of the Foundation is to accept gifts of money to improve the parks in general, or, as in most cases, to help build or improve a special project that someone is interested in.
The Foundation can accept gifts from individuals for tax purposes, or from estates that mandate the completion of a special request, or interest for investments that a person may set up to help the parks for some reason he or she is interested in.
One example of a gift received was a sum of money from the Marion Kiehn Estate that was used to build a new greenhouse for the park system and money to perpetuate the care of flower beds at Oak Park and the Souris Valley Golf Course.
If you, or someone you know, are interested in giving a gift to the Foundation, or would like more information about the Foundation, please contact Ron Merritt, Director of Parks, at 857-4136.
