Come join the Minot Parks for a day of fishing, fun, and prizes on the Game and Fish pond at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds.
Mighty Mouse Fishing Derby
$15 per fisher / $5 to rent pole
The Mighty Mouse Ice fishing derby is open to kids and families. Each family/team must have a child under 16. All participants will get a door prize ticket. Door Prizes winners will be drawn and announced during the fishing hours. Fish prizes will be announced after all weights have been reported after 3pm.
All teams and participants will be required to pre-register online at minotparks.com. The cost will be $15 per person. Poles will be available to rent for additional $5 (make sure you sign up in the rental category). Each team is allowed to have one line per person. The use of ice houses, fish sonar, cameras, 4-wheelers, side-by-side, or snowmobiles will not be permitted. Use of heaters and live bait are allowed. Catch prizes will be measured by length and must be measured right after being caught and must be returned as soon as possible.
All participants are asked to dress for the weather, winter hats, gloves, winter coat and good boots are recommended. Along with a good outer layer, a good base layer is also recommended such as thermal socks, pant liners, and a scarf. We will have some heated huts and fires pits for you to warm up on the ice.
We will have a shotgun start right at noon. All lines must be off the water by 3pm. Fish catch prizes will be announced after everything is recorded and tallied.
