Minot, ND- The Minot Park District in partnership with the Minot Swim Club will be taking part in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson this Thursday, June 23rd at 5:30pm hosted at the Roosevelt Park Pool.
The annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson event, coordinated by the World Waterpark Association, brings together leading water safety and training organizations around the world to send one focused message – Swimming Lessons Save Lives™.
Hundreds of swim instructors in 14 countries and 42 states across the U.S. are kicking off the official start of summer by teaching tens of thousands of kids vital water safety skills to raise awareness and help prevent childhood drowning.
“Safety is our highest priority at the Roosevelt Park Pool and throughout the Minot Park District,” says Ron Merritt, Executive Director of the Minot Park District. “We are excited to partner with the Minot Swim Club to bring awareness to the importance of water safety.”
“Learning how to swim and how to be safe around water is a lifegiving opportunity,” says Gerald Brown, Special Event Coordinator of the Minot Park District. “We hope to start to spread this ease of mind by teaching kids a few life saving tips and strategies.”
The Minot Park District invites kids ages 5-12 to be part of the worldwide team and take part in the free thirty-minute swim lesson. Prior registration to the event is required and space is limited. To register please visit www.minotparks.com or call the Minot Park District office at 857-4136.
