The Minot Park District is hosting a Maple Syrup-making 101 class. It will be held on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, at Moose Park from 12-3 pm. “Come join the Minot Parks Department at Moose Park and learn how to make your own maple syrup. We have local experts from Vadell Brothers Syrup to teach you all the basics of maple syrup making. You will learn what, how, and when to tap. You will learn how to collect and keep sap, and finally how to boil and finish your sweet liquid gold. You will also get to try some maple-flavored treats and drinks.”

Learn how to make maple Syrup class starts at 1 pm

– History – Tree Selection and Identification

– Tapping Process and supplies

– Boiling Process and finishing Maple treats for sale and to try 12-3 pm

– Cotton candy

– Maple candies

– Maple root beer/ cream soda (Atypical)

– Everyone will also get to try the fresh maple sap cooking in the boiler.
